Elizabeth Jane Hurley was an English actress, model and singer who rose to prominence in the 90s after she was the girlfriend of Hugh Grant. When the film was released in 1994, Grant gained the world's media due to the worldwide box office success of his movie Four Weddings and a Funeral Hurley attended the premiere of the film in Los Angeles premiere in a plunged black Versace dress, which she secured with the gold safety pins, which earned the media's attention immediately. One of the highlights of Hurley's professional life is her relationship with the cosmetics company Estee Lauder. Hurley was recruited by the company as their first model at age 28. In 1995 she has been featured as a model for products from the company, such as Sensuous Intuition & Pleasures. The most famous film performance was when she played Vanessa Kensington in Mike Myers famous spy comedies International Man of Mystery (1997) as well as Austin Powers The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999). Hurley has been modeling and designing the brand's beachwear collection. Perry's attempts in the beginning to become an international star were unsuccessful. She was signed to two different record companies but she was let go before her music was released. Capitol Records however released Perry's EP Ur So Gay in 2007. The title track was a jolly and playful track that garnered only a small amount of media attention. "I Kissed a Girl was a more bold ode to sexism that was accompanied by an electro-pop beat that was hard to resist. Some critics accused the song of encouraging homosexual relations, some claimed that the graphic depiction was designed for men to entice them into with fantasies. I Kissed a Girl became the number one hit in the world due to the combination of excitement and an elegant melody. The song also contributed to the sales of her 2008 album, One of the Boys. Hot N Cold's sharp and lively second track was popular. This album that Perry made for herself, ended up selling more than 3 million copies across the United States.
