I Kissed a Girl became the number one hit in the world due to the combination of excitement and an elegant melody. The song also contributed to the sales of her 2008 album, One of the Boys. Hot N Cold's sharp and lively second track was popular. This album that Perry made for herself, ended up selling more than 3 million copies across the United States.
